The most impressive way to open a wall is to use folding and stacking door systems that slide and fold or stack out of the way into a parking bay. In special cases they can even be automatic.
A range of systems are available depending on the size and design, and typically toughened safety glass is used in 10, 12, 15 to 19 mm thickness. It is important to understand that they are still frameless doors and are not weather tight, even though seals can be fitted to the vertical edges and top and bottom rails.
EnduraStack can come as toughened or laminate so can be used in high impact areas. All glass must be engineered to specific code and design. Many different tints are available so please contact Woods Glass to find out more information.
Commercial buildings are issued a compliance schedule from the council if the building has any specified systems at the completion of works. Stacking Doors require regular checks and inspections to ensure they comply with the statutory regulations.
Normally when cleaning glass, a vinegar-based glass cleaner or mild dish soap and water with a soft, lint-free cloth or paper products is recommended. A squeegee or soft cloth may be carefully used to dry the glass and help avoid water spots.
It is not recommended to use petroleum-based cleaners or solvents as they can streak the glass and weaken the seal between the glass and frame. Avoid washing in direct sunlight to reduce streaking on the glass.
Never use razor blades, steel wool, putty knives or abrasive pads as they may damage the glass, particularly on toughened glass.
EnduraStack systems are highly customizable and each system is bespoke. Woods Glass design and engineer each system, so please get in touch to find out more. Please contact Woods Glass to discuss special requirements.
